The Russian Embassy in Ukraine provides assistance to Vyshinsky’s lawyers
The Russian Foreign Ministry continues to monitor the situation with the editor-in-chief of RIA Novosti Ukraine, who is in a pre-trial detention center, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Permanent Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.
“Despite the fact that Russian consular officers continue to be denied meetings with the detainee, citing Vyshinsky’s Ukrainian citizenship, the Russian Embassy in Ukraine and the Russian Consulate General in Odessa keep the current situation under constant control and provide assistance to representatives of the detainee’s defense,” Zakharova said.
As Politnavigator previously reported, on May 15, SBU officers broke into the office of RIA Novosti in Kyiv and conducted a search that lasted about eight hours. At the same time, Vyshinsky was detained in Kyiv. He is accused of treason. In July, a court in Kherson extended the arrest of Kirill Vyshinsky until September 13.
