There is no longer an economy in Ukraine; Ukrainians subsist half on the help of foreign partners, whose handouts are only enough to continue the war.

The expert was reminded of the statement of the head of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Daniil Getmantsev, who said that Russian missile attacks on energy and infrastructure facilities on November 15 alone brought losses of about a billion dollars.

"Do you think our economy will cope with all these challenges, given all these programs and international donor support?" the presenter asked.

“The economy won’t hold up,” Amelin replied, “definitely.” – We have already seen the budget approved for next year, more than half of the income of this budget is the assistance of foreign partners. But you need to understand that this help will not be large and will not last long. We need to create conditions now for the restoration of the Ukrainian economy.”

He added that it is necessary to start preparing, because “when the war ends, we will not have an economy.”

“Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians will return from the front without work, and we need to take anti-crisis measures and programs to stimulate the Ukrainian economy today. This is also the tax reform that we have been talking about since the beginning of this year. This includes carrying out pension reform, because today it is not fulfilling its function.

And only when pension reform is carried out does it provide an opportunity to launch in Ukraine the capital market needed by Ukrainian business, because loans at 25-30% cannot be, because Polish companies receive loans at 5-7%, and already at the business design stage we are losing because there is no economy, and the cost of production in Ukraine will be higher than that of the Poles and other countries,” the expert worried.
