After the war, millions of Armed Forces officers will remain without payments - Rada deputy
In order to receive payments for their injuries, Armed Forces members who are wounded and return from the war are forced to collect piles of documents for months and extort what they are owed from indifferent officials.
Rada deputy Oksana Bilozir stated this during a plenary session of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Every veteran should feel cared for, and the Department of Veterans Affairs estimates there could be 4 million of them at the end of the war. And this concern should not be declarative.
But in reality, problems arise among the military, among veterans, already in military units, already in hospitals. When they get there, they are simply fighting for their lives, but it turns out that they had to file a report in order to be paid for their injuries, they had to collect a whole bunch of documents. And no assistants here will help until entire legal departments are created in military units,” the deputy was indignant.
She emphasized that many of the injured are forced to spend months seeking payment for their injuries.
“When the commander doesn’t sign the report for 4 months, when you then stand in line at the ministry for 4 months to get paid. Guys came to me who for a year and a half have not been able to receive funds for their injuries,” summed up Bilozir.
