After Poroshenko’s visit, Erdogan wanted to send peacekeepers to Donbass

After Petro Poroshenko’s visit to Istanbul, Turkish leader Recep Erdogan expressed his intentions to deploy his peacekeeping troops in Donbass.

Petro Poroshenko informed the Turkish side about the situation in Donbass. In addition, an exchange of views took place on the situation in Russian-occupied Crimea, in particular on the release of Ukrainian political prisoners from Russian prisons.

“Turkey supported the deployment of a UN peacekeeping mission in the occupied part of Donbass and declared its readiness to take part in it,” the statement says.
