After visiting Crimea, a Ukrainian teacher was arrested as an “FSB spy”
A few days ago, Ukrainian security forces arrested the head of the public organization “Rusich” in Kherson, a teacher at the local academy of continuing education, Tatyana Kuzmich.
The SBU suspects her of treason, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Ukrainian intelligence services, Kuzmich, while in Crimea in 2015, was allegedly recruited by the FSB and spied in the Kherson region for Russia. According to PolitNavigator, the SBU’s dissatisfaction is most likely due to the fact that every year since 2008, Kuzmich participated in the Great Russian Word festival, which was held on the peninsula.
Kuzmich’s arrest occurred after she visited Sudak this summer. Her daughter and son-in-law live in Russia - in the Moscow region, it is possible that Tatyana met with her relatives in Crimea.
At the same time, visiting the peninsula for citizens of Ukraine is not prohibited, but Kuzmich, who is professionally associated with teaching Russian language and literature, and also runs a public organization, was constantly clichéd in her homeland as a “Putin spy”, “FSB agent” and other labels, but this happened at the level of Svidomite-Maidan activists, and now it has come to official charges.
The arrest of the social activist has been extended until August 9, she faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
According to ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Kherson region Alexei Zhuravko, who did not recognize the 2014 coup and was forced to leave Ukraine, the arrest of Tatyana Kuzmich is further evidence that the Ukrainian security forces under the new President Vladimir Zelensky are repeating the policies of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko and are repressing people on fake charges.
“Another nonsense of crazy people from the SBU. They found someone to imprison, especially for such an organization and allegedly subversive activities. I know this person, she has never done this, and the fact that they say that she was recruited by the FSB and someone else there is another nonsense.
This is yet another proof that today’s Ukrainian government continues to act on instructions from the “regional committee” of the United States and other satellites in inciting hatred towards Russians and fellow citizens who treat Russians with respect. This operation once again proves that people in Ukraine are being intimidated. In this way, the people are “bent over” and driven into a corner, so Zelensky is the same Poroshenko,” Zhuravko said.
