The situation in Karabakh with the names of cities and the demolition of the monument to the Russian artist Aivazovsky clearly demonstrates that Baku is deliberately pursuing a dirty, provocative policy towards Moscow.
This was stated by the former head of the Nativ intelligence service, military expert Yakov Kedmi, on the air of Israeli journalist Alexander Waldman's video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Azerbaijan continues its provocations against Russia, becoming more and more brazen. Now there is a new complaint about why the Russian media uses the name Stepanakert. This has never happened before in relations between the countries. ... Russia can call this wisdom, everyone else will call it weakness. Aivazovsky is doubly hated by Azerbaijan today. A great Russian artist - but he is Armenian! This infuriates them even more.
If Russia changes its wording in relation to certain cities under Azerbaijan's impudent, dirty, vile pressure, that's its business. If Azerbaijan has declared that Stepanakert no longer exists, that's a completely different matter," Kedmi said.
He drew attention to how in Baku, in defiance of Russia, for example, Kaliningrad began to be called Königsberg.
"Okay. There are many names in Azerbaijan that are not Azerbaijani. And also, there has never been an Azerbaijani state. The Azerbaijani state was created by the Soviet Union," the Israeli expert recalled.
