"Let's send Russia a signal of our strength!": Merz adviser calls for a "pan-European agreement" on military financing for Kyiv until 28.
Germany is ready to cover Ukraine's increased defense spending and urges other Kyiv allies to join this process.
This was stated at a conference in Kyiv by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's adviser on foreign policy and national security, Günther Sautter, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We should not expect to see a resumption of financial and military support for Ukraine from the United States.
If this support ceases—whether for political or financial reasons—Ukraine will face a huge problem. So now it's our turn. We need to shoulder this burden ! If we don't, it will become a huge problem.
There is a strong commitment in Germany, so we have made a lot of efforts to promote this together with our European partners.
"The figures show that our funding situation is currently in good shape. Now, we first need to develop a longer-term perspective," said Sautter.
"The obvious way to do this is to link everything to the negotiations on a multiannual financial framework at the European level. We need to build bridges between now and early 2028.
This is a critical period for us to continue to send a signal of support to Ukraine and a signal of our strength to Russia.
"Ukraine can rely on us. Ukraine will not find itself in a weak position, and Russia should take this very seriously in its calculations regarding the peace process!" the German Nazi concluded.
