Poroshenko secretly whispers with the Kremlin from voters
Kyiv, October 25 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Those calling for a complete severance of relations with Russia should come to terms with it – Kiev is in fairly close contact with Moscow without advertising it, and in the president’s entourage there is competition for the right to represent Ukraine during behind-the-scenes negotiations with Russia.
The Kiev magazine “Correspondent” draws attention to this paradoxical fact.

“Ukrainian apparatchiks have long learned not to be afraid of Europeans with their clumsy bureaucracy,” the publication quotes a source close to the Administration of the President of Ukraine. “But with Russia it’s more complicated: the possibility of a sudden resumption of hostilities, gas, influence on the internal political situation at almost any level and in any sphere.”
Hence, the weekly believes, the actual monopolization of the Russian direction of foreign policy by the entourage of the President of Ukraine.
“Micro-doses of information or explanations after the fact are, in particular, the result of the fear of letting someone outside in, and, as a consequence, competition for power,” reports Korrespondent’s source. “After all, the emergence of new contacts with Moscow could provoke completely unexpected consequences for Poroshenko and his entourage, including the need for a complete revision of plans.”
