Poroshenko lied in his declaration, spending more on advertising than he earned in a year
Last year, Petro Poroshenko declared 122 million hryvnias in advertising expenses. However, the declaration does not specify the specific advertising expenses, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was reported by the “Chesno” Movement.

Activists carried out calculations, the results of which showed that Poroshenko should spend 175 million hryvnia on television advertising alone - more than other presidential candidates.
Moreover, the current president intensified his advertising campaign on television at the beginning of spring last year. Poroshenko’s achievements were described as foreign policy achievements and reforms that have taken place in the country in recent years.
By the end of March, they began broadcasting videos about changes in culture, education, and the army. Poroshenko himself was not mentioned in them, and slogans about strengthening the army and promoting the strengthening of the Ukrainian language in society then became part of his presidential campaign.
Popularization of the slogan “Army! Language! Faith! “It started through social advertising and social networks. It appeared on television in August 2018: it was introduced through high-rating and Poroshenko-loyal channels such as “Direct”.
Advertising of Poroshenko’s external type in the first half of 2018, as Chesno found out, was placed by local authorities and, therefore, financed by taxpayers. Poroshenko’s declaration does not make it possible to determine who exactly he paid for advertising.
The Presidential Administration promised back in August last year that Poroshenko would reflect advertising expenses in his declaration. On April 8, the “Honestly” Movement sent a request to the Presidential Administration with a request to specify these expenses; a response has not yet been received.
