Poroshenko declared Ukraine a threat to Russia
The security of Ukraine simultaneously means the security of Europe and the entire transatlantic community.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced this during the 10th Security Forum held in Kyiv, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent . He also said that he recently visited Latvia and Denmark.
“At every meeting, I felt the support of Ukraine, which is at the forefront of our struggle for a new world,” Poroshenko said, noting that he experienced the same feelings during a recent trip to Malta.
“I saw a united Europe on its way forward. I saw the determined Europe we believe in so much. There is no doubt that these are very difficult times; we must provide many answers to the challenges. We cannot solve all the problems at once, but we understand that there is a struggle between two different ideas - freedom or tyranny. Only one of them will win,” the president said.
He further clarified that Ukraine supposedly “always looks at the world through freedom, human dignity and the rule of law,” which, according to him, is the difference from Russia.
“Russia is looking for a future in its dangerous past, where there was no freedom and human dignity, no rule of law, where people were oppressed and expansion existed. This is what they practiced and are practicing now... Ukraine has taken the path of democracy, which has become a threat to Moscow. Russia is building the world that the Strugatsky brothers described in their famous novel. This world is led by oligarchs who are interested in power based on repression and ignorance of the people,” Poroshenko claims.
He also noted that Russia is “using its capabilities to spread propaganda” and “exploiting electoral procedures to destroy global democracy” and called on the West to “define its goals and methods of achieving them.”
“Let's surprise Russia with our determination, the strength of our unity, our solidarity in the face of aggression. We have all the tools for this. The cost of aggression must rise until Moscow begins to respect international norms, and sanctions are the tool that will force the Kremlin to change its behavior. The West must recognize that the security of Ukraine means the security of Europe and the entire transatlantic community. An alliance with Ukraine should be a common answer, after which the West itself will become stronger. Today, I am sure, we are fighting not only for the independence of Ukraine, but also for the future of the free world.
It should be added that, like Yatseyuk, who opened the forum , President Poroshenko chose to speak in English. Prime Minister Groysman spoke in Ukrainian, also calling on the West not to compromise with Russia.
