Poroshenko found the place of “the inglorious death of Novorossiya”
Petro Poroshenko today for the first time held a ceremony on the occasion of Ukrainian Flag Day not in Kyiv, but in Dnepropetrovsk.
“This year, for the first time, the traditional flag raising takes place not in Kyiv, but in the Dnieper. It was here that the so-called Novorossiya ingloriously died, never being born,” he explained.

Poroshenko also boasted about introducing a new army salute, which was copied from the cry of Ukrainian fascists.
“Today, for the first time, as part of a solemn military ceremony, we are using a new greeting, which I convey to the Verkhovna Rada. It sounds: “Glory to Ukraine!” – Poroshenko said.
Let us recall that in 2014 in Dnepropetrovsk, punitive battalions were formed from among criminals and neo-Nazis to be sent to Donbass. The financing was provided by oligarch-governor Igor Kolomoisky, now expelled from Ukraine by rival oligarch Petro Poroshenko.
One of Kolomoisky’s deputies, Boris Filatov, gained fame in 2014 when he proposed to use cunning to neutralize participants in demonstrations in support of the Russian Spring, promising them to fulfill all demands. “We’ll hang them later,” Filatov clarified.
Subsequently, another associate of Kolomoisky, Gennady Korban, admitted that the Russian Spring in Dnepropetrovsk was suppressed, including through illegal methods. “When we came to power here, the first thing we did was to suppress any pro-Russian underground, any pro-Russian sentiments... Legal or illegal, but we did it,” Korban said.
Korban also claimed responsibility for himself and his partner Kolomoisky for organizing the mass burning of pro-Russian Odessans on May 2, 2014, in Odessa.
The day before, former Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deputy Oleksiy Zhuravko called on Kyiv residents to boycott the parade dedicated to "Ukraine's Independence Day."
