Poroshenko wants to name a street in Odessa in honor of the deceased Ukrainian brigade commander
During the fighting in the Nikolaev direction, the commander of the Odessa 28th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces named after the Knights of the Winter March, Colonel Vitaly Gulyaev, was eliminated.
This was reported by the fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the people's deputy from Poroshenko's party in the Rada Alexey Goncharenko, who published his photo with the deceased.

“Vitaly Gulyaev died. This is a person I know well and is very close to me. I feel personal loss and sudden emptiness,” Poroshenko wrote.

According to Poroshenko, Gulyaev was preparing for a counter-offensive.
“Vitaly was preparing for a counteroffensive. We must continue his work. Help the Armed Forces even more. Unite the world around Ukraine even more strongly. Beat the enemy even more powerfully in order to cleanse him from Ukrainian soil,” the politician called.
Poroshenko also appealed to the Odessa City Council to support his party’s initiative to rename one of the city streets in honor of the deceased colonel.
Gulyaev has fought on the front line since 2014. He was appointed to the post of commander of the Odessa 28th brigade in September 2021.
