President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Philip opened a new checkpoint “Kuchurgan” on the border between the countries, which is actually the border with Transnistria.

The speaker of the State Border Service Oleg Slobodyan announced this on Facebook, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip launched joint Ukrainian-Moldovan border and customs control at the Kuchurgan checkpoint,” Slobodyan said.
Let us remind you that it was previously reported that Poroshenko and Filip intend to open a joint checkpoint “Kuchurgan-Pervomaisk”. It is noted that the opening of the checkpoint was part of the agreements reached between Moldova and Ukraine, in particular through the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Organization of Joint Control and the Interdepartmental Protocol signed by the two countries. It is also noted that the project is being implemented with the support of the European Union.
The event took place as part of Poroshenko’s visit to the Odessa region today.
