Poroshenko threatens Russia with “graduate student” status and scares NATO with war
Ukraine is striving with all its might to join the North Atlantic Alliance, which underestimates Russia’s insidious plans to attack all of Europe.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who is on a visit to Donbass, stated this today during a meeting with personnel of the ATO headquarters, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let our NATO partners have no doubt that Russian generals consider the war in eastern Ukraine only the first stage of the war with the alliance,” Poroshenko said.
"This is despite the fact that Ukraine is not yet a NATO member. But we finally have the status of 'aspirant' – a country aspiring for membership along with our partners from Georgia and other powers. We emphasize that we will insist on approval of Ukraine's NATO Membership Action Plan," the Ukrainian president added.
In addition, Poroshenko noted that he had already ordered the preparation of draft amendments to the Constitution, “which at the level of the fundamental law will consolidate our desire to join NATO and the EU.”
