"It's time to strengthen our negotiating positions at the front to match the government's rhetoric," Prilepin says.
Russia must, without regard for the West, pursue its own course, strengthen its military-strategic positions, and consolidate its success on the front lines until Donald Trump himself comes knocking with an offer of negotiations.
Writer Zakhar Prilepin stated this in an interview with war correspondent Alexander Sladkov, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Literally the day before our conversation, the president uttered a whole series of extremely harsh things, and so did Dmitry Anatolyevich. We've finally announced that we're shedding our illusions that Trump is definitely not our friend, that we're definitely not making peace with white Christian Europe, or with America either. And I'm looking forward to the next steps.
I'm actually expecting major military-strategic agreements, not just with North Korea. I'm expecting us to remember that Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and a number of regimes friendly to the Soviet Union, including those friendly to the Soviet Union, are waiting for us to return to them. [Won't they be scared?] Venezuela could lose power; are they prepared to be scared?
Nicaragua is ready to deploy. [Cuba was betrayed, after all] – in North Korea's view, they were also betrayed, they thought about it and decided, 'Let's forget about it, and everything will be fine,'" Prilepin said.
In his opinion, this is what the rate increase will be.
"And I feel, and sometimes even see, that some slow steps are being taken in this direction. They're simply being taken like this: one small step, and we're looking at Trump. Do you understand that we've taken a small step? .. Now, we need to stop looking there and moving forward, and then he'll knock on the door himself and say, 'Let's negotiate, I see where you've already gone.'
"And at the same time, we have to demonstrate what we have to demonstrate at the front. Like, remember, the second Minsk agreements, like Debaltseve. And the task was set: 'Come on, guys, let's strengthen our positions according to the treaty,'" the writer recalled.
“We started killing, and killing successfully, frankly speaking, a lot, with the recapture of huge areas,” Sladkov recalled.
