"It's time to end it" – Europeans have changed their minds about fighting Russia
The belligerent anti-Russian rhetoric of European politicians does not reflect their real sentiments.
Foreign agent and former editor-in-chief of the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy, Alexei Venediktov, stated this in a conversation with foreign agent journalist Yulia Latynina, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Despite this, political advisers to the British Prime Minister, the French President, and the German Chancellor are working on their plan, trying to coordinate it with the Americans so that European interests, and at the very least, NATO as a whole, are included," Venediktov said.
He claims that these advisers travel to Moscow and meet with Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov and GRU chief Igor Kostyukov.
Venediktov believes that the military situation, which is placing a burden on their economies, is pushing the Europeans to negotiate.
"Popular discontent is growing because the economic burden caused by the war is growing. There's a huge increase in energy tariffs. Aid to Ukraine is being taken from the budget. There are Ukrainian refugees in these countries. In short, the situation is improving. It's time to end it," Venediktov declared.
At the same time, he asserts that if the Ukrainian conflict continues, European support will continue in full.
