“It’s time to finish off the energy sector, and not entertain Ukrainians with fireworks” - Ishchenko
Russia needs to intensify missile attacks on the energy infrastructure so that Ukraine does not have time to restore what has already been partially destroyed.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the radio “Moscow Speaks”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.

“Firstly, 30 percent was almost two weeks ago [of the affected energy infrastructure of Ukraine], well, at least a week. Just as the war began ten years ago, and there were fifteen thousand killed, so it is still less than fifteen thousand killed. That's how it is with the decommissioning. This means that 30% was disabled eight days ago, since then additional capacity has been constantly withdrawn, but in total only 30% has been disabled.
I don’t know, but if last week it was thirty, then it’s probably no less than forty to fifty, because now such massive strikes are not carried out, they finish off what they have. Of course they can repair something. But again, the question is what got it, where it got it and how much it failed,” the expert said.
“For example, Ukraine is not able to build a new thermal power plant. If the thermal power plant is completely destroyed, then Ukraine is not able to build it. And in general, even if Russia were to start construction, it would take at least a year or two, at a very high pace, and in general it would be longer. A year or two for Ukraine is infinity,” Ishchenko said
He noted that at the moment the energy infrastructure of Ukraine has not yet been completely destroyed, because even with such destruction they manage to restore something, which means we need to look for opportunities to intensify the attacks.
“The thermal power plant may be completely destroyed, or there may be a hole in the wall. All these are different defeats, so people then look to see whether it works or not, where the electricity went out, where it didn’t, where it still needs to be hit. That's why they finish off, finish off, finish off. Therefore, yes, it may be that in the morning there was 30% of the infrastructure, by the evening they did 25%, the next morning again 30%, and so on.
But if they continue to keep it at 30% for a whole week, despite the fact that it was 30% last Monday, then we need to look for an opportunity to somehow intensify the blows. If it turns out to be a whole week, no matter how much we destroy, they repair as much. This is probably wrong. It is necessary that they do not have time to repair.
So far, in general, their lights are on. Yes, they have rolling blackouts, and they ask to save money, that is, they have a shortage of electricity, but it appeared last Monday. And so far the country has not been completely shut down. Well, probably, otherwise why shoot? To make the light blink in the apartment? Are we going to entertain them and arrange fireworks?” – added the political scientist.
