Kyiv, November 08 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Renewed attempts to storm Donetsk may be the initiative of Ukrainian volunteer battalions, and not a decision of the central government, says political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky.

" The intensification of military action isn't connected to a decision by headquarters, the president, or the defense minister. In my opinion, it's a reaction to the rhetoric of political figures, including the president, the prime minister, and all those leaders and battalion commanders who became members of parliament. After the elections in the unrecognized republics, various harsh assessments of the situation and other radical statements were made by these politicians. And this provokes people who don't obey anyone to aggressive actions. I don't see any other reasons," the expert told PolitNavigator.
