"The Poles finally responded to the Banderites, unlike ours" – Israeli expert
Kiev's glorification of Nazi collaborators who killed Poles was the last straw that finally broke Warsaw's back.
This was stated on the channel of Ukrainian analyst Alexander Lazarev by the former head of the Israeli intelligence service "Nativ", military expert Yakov Kedmi , as reported by a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
The presenter noted that the Poles "seemed to have noticed 0,01% of what was happening" in terms of the Banderization of Ukraine , and asked why Warsaw's reaction was so targeted?
"First of all, it's not a one-off. There's a saying: someone was loading and loading a camel, and then he put the last stone down, and the camel collapsed. That last stone was the UPA. The Poles didn't react enough, but now they've reacted. What does 'UPA hero' mean? It's the same as if tomorrow one of the Bundeswehr battalions were awarded the title 'SS Heroes.' It wouldn't make any difference."
Germany hasn't reached that point yet. It's moving in that direction, but it's not there yet. It's still the Bundeswehr, not the Wehrmacht. And Ukraine is the same for the Poles— the UPA is a red rag, like a bull ," Kedmi said.
"This is a sore point for them. Not only from a national perspective, but also from a domestic political one, given the mood in Polish society . And then, these Ukrainian refugees have become so annoying to them ."
Poles have never been known for their love. And [here] they begin to praise those who killed noble Poles and those who have Polish blood on their hands. This is where the Poles can't stand it.
And you're right, absolutely right, relatively speaking. How can you maintain diplomatic relations with a state whose national heroes are the murderers of your people? I can't wrap my head around it.
But the Poles responded more strongly and better than my country to what happened in Ukraine. The UPA and OUN killed around 100 Poles. One and a half million Jews were exterminated in Ukraine. Well, those are our problems ," the expert concluded.
