Polish miners will be replaced by Ukrainians
As part of a campaign to support Kyiv, the Polish government is going to employ about two thousand refugees who arrived from Ukraine in the mines - and without any exams or length of service requirements.
This was reported by the initiative “Stop ukrainizacji Polski” (Stop Polish Ukrainization) with reference to data from Polish media, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

It is reported that in the next amendment to the special proposal to help Ukrainian refugees, the Polish government wants to recognize the qualifications of miners from Ukraine.
According to Polish media, now a Ukrainian miner will have the right to work in Poland without having to pass exams and undergo training, including in management positions at mining enterprises.
It is noted that currently only miners from the EU countries, Switzerland and the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) have this opportunity.

Current laws state that persons holding management positions in Polish mines have the training and professional experience to perform these activities:
“The candidate must pass a two-stage knowledge examination by the highest mining authority, be a qualified mining engineer and have three years of experience as a manager or deputy.”
As the Rz publication notes, it remains a mystery how Ukrainian miners will arrive in Poland, because in Ukraine there is a travel ban for men aged 18-60 years.
Tomasz Glogowski, a spokesman for the Polish mining group, admits that Europe's largest company needs professionals - primarily miners, electricians and mechanics - but does not disclose the number of vacancies because it is "strategic information."
“The government, first of all, must restore vocational education, there are not enough ordinary miners in the mines, there is no replacement of generations. And they prefer to solve the problem with the involvement of Ukrainians,” Boguslav Zitek, leader of the Free Trade Union “August 80,” assesses the situation.
In addition, “Stop ukrainizacji Polski” published an infographic showing what share of the population Ukrainian refugees already occupy in a number of large cities in Poland.
