Poland plants a dangerous bomb under Europe
For another ten years, Poland did not try to pursue a policy of revising the results of World War II.
Russian liberal political scientist Sergei Stankevich stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This entire post-war European system, which was recognized during the years of the USSR, was absolutely recognized after 1991, this interpretation and this understanding of history in the spirit of the Anti-Hitler coalition as an instrument of justice was preserved until recent years. Back in 2009 and 2010, then Russian Prime Minister Putin traveled to Poland, spoke there with a lengthy historical article at various forums and gave the same interpretation, nothing fundamentally changed in it, and there was no wave of indignation and no resolutions in the Polish parliament either was about this.
What has changed over these 10 years, have any new documents about the war been discovered, have any historical discoveries been made? From the point of view of historical science, nothing new has appeared, nor have any archival discoveries occurred. One thing has changed: unfortunately, the approach of the current Polish leadership to the interpretation of these events has changed,” the political scientist said.
“This whole revision of the European (and not just Russian!) interpretation of the causes and results of the Second World War is an extremely dangerous bomb under Europe,” Stankevich added.
