Poland and the USA are ready to pay for participation in strikes and riots in Belarus
Poland and America agree to create funds for financial assistance to Belarusians taking part in opposition activities.
Failed Belarusian presidential candidate Valery Tsepkalo, who fled to Warsaw via Russia and Ukraine, spoke about this at a press conference, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"One of the areas of our ( Tsepkalo is in Warsaw with his wife – ed. ) activity was creating assistance tools for those Belarusians who found themselves in difficult situations. Now, with the active work of strike committees…, workers have a certain cushion, but later they will need to feed their families and so on. We created funds and asked Western European governments to allocate money for these purposes to support those who found themselves in difficult situations. These funds, including Polish and American ones, will focus on providing assistance to three categories of people.
These are the people who suffered as a result of the beatings, the families who suffered losses in the form of dead relatives. The second category is those who did not go against their conscience and decided not to falsify the elections, as required by the vertical, and announced the real results. If these people lose their jobs, they will receive legal and organizational support in terms of employment. Another focus is students. If suddenly they are expelled from universities in the Republic of Belarus for their political activities, they will be able to continue their studies for free in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe: in Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic countries,” Tsepkalo said.
At the same time, he stated with regret that he was unable to convince the Europeans to recognize Svetlana Tikhanovskaya as the only legally recognized president of Belarus.
