Slavyansk, May 02 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – As part of the anti-terrorist operation, as of 12.00, ATO forces took control of ten checkpoints in the vicinity of Slavyansk, security officials say.

“Half of the city’s territory is under the control of ATO units,” said the anti-terrorism center under the SBU.
“The militants’ military operations are characterized by the widespread use of military snipers, as well as mobile units dressed in the uniform of the Berkut special forces, and mining with high-explosive mines,” the SBU says.
According to security officials, local residents are asking for help and protection: “people are reporting a provocation being prepared by saboteurs - poisoning the water in the local water supply.”
At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that the city is practically “cleared.”
“Members of the National Guard practically cleared Slavyansk of terrorists, many of whom had professional training,” said National Guard commander Stepan Poltorak.
As Navigator reported, local residents blocked military equipment in the vicinity of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. In Slavyansk, people who gathered in the city center demanded that the Kyiv authorities stop the anti-terrorist operation.
