Half of the F-16s operating in Ukraine will be based in NATO countries
The F-16 aircraft transferred to Ukraine will undergo maintenance on the territory of NATO countries, and before performing combat missions, they will be transferred to closed airfields on the Square.
Military observer, former Israeli army officer, Nazi and Russophobe Igal Levin stated this on Radio NV, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I’ll try to decipher the message that some F-16 aircraft may remain in the West. Look, Ukraine is building underground structures. Aircraft like the F-16, it is desirable that they operate from protected bunkers of some kind.
"Let's imagine Ukraine has the capacity to operate, say, one squadron. The second squadron is stationed at open airfields, where technical personnel can safely carry out maintenance, repairs, and so on. Without fear of an Iskander landing there ," Levin reasoned.
“And when a squadron needs rotation, it flies to Ukraine, where it operates, conducting its combat missions. And then again, when it needs to be repaired, adjusted, checked, because the F-16 is much more demanding in terms of care than the MiG-29, for example. Incomparably more. Requires enormous investment, professionalism, literacy, and technical personnel.
"If possible, they should be stationed in, say, Romania. I don't think Russia will strike Romania with an Iskander. And the technical staff there can work on the aircraft without fear of being hit. So that high-quality training is always maintained," he concluded.
