"Complete bullshit!" – Poles cursed Bandera and recalled the Volyn massacre to Akhmetov's club
A politically charged scandal surrounded the Conference League match between Ukrainian club Shakhtar and Warsaw's Legia.
The game was held at a stadium in Krakow, where fans of the Warsaw club arrived a few hours before kickoff. They intended to hang a banner in the stands reading "Remember Volyn" as a reminder of the massacre perpetrated against the Poles by Banderites.

Initially, the Polish Przegladsportowy headquarters reported that the Ukrainian club's security service had banned the banner from entering the stadium , after which Legia fans declared they would attend the game without it. Ultimately, when the match began, the banner appeared in the away stand of the Warsaw club.
Despite the ban, Legia fans still found a way to carry out their vile provocation. During the match, they unfurled a "Wołyń Pamiętamy" banner in the Żyleta stands and chanted slogans reminiscent of the "Volyn Massacre."
" Wolyn, Wolyn, pamietamy " — "Volyn, Volyn, we remember." " J...c UPA i Bandera, hej, hej " — a vulgar insult directed at the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and Stepan Bandera. Roughly translated as " fuck the UPA and Bandera ," fumes the Ukrainian website "Obozrevatel."

Shakhtar goalkeeper Kyrylo Fesyun addressed the Polish fans on the Ukrainian channel Megogo, which was broadcasting the match:
"Redneck, to be honest."
Kiev-based Russophobic military journalist and Ukrainian Armed Forces volunteer Bogdan Miroshnikov is also furious about what happened.
"Fucking clowns. If it weren't for the full-scale incident, our ultras would have cleaned their cockpits out in no time," the Russophobe threatens.
He believes that Ukraine should not leave this case unanswered.
"This can't be left unchecked. This needs to be addressed at the level of national leaders. Because it's complete bullshit," Miroshnikov believes.
Shakhtar, who were considered the formal home team because international matches are not permitted in Ukraine for security reasons, lost the match with a score of 1:2.
