The reason for yesterday's failure of Russian government Internet sites was a US cyber attack, although the Russian Ministry of Digital Development denies this.

Former adviser to the President of the Russian Federation on Internet issues, German Klimenko, on the contrary, believes that the cause of the incident was internal problems of Rostelecom - for example, some equipment there could have broken down.
