Igor Shishkin, an expert at the CIS Institute, stated this on the Book Day channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Russia benefits from the fact that if the EU collapses at the hands of the US, the champions of liberal globalism in our country will suffer a very strong blow. This is an undeniable advantage for Russia, because denying the power of the liberal-globalist part of the ruling class is pointless . Just as it is pointless to pretend that all supporters of liberal globalism grabbed their knapsacks and fled to the West after 22."
"The stupidest ones fled. Or those who realized they could be the ones left behind in this situation . So they had to flee. The smartest, the most grounded, stayed here," Shishkin said.
He recalled that the orientation towards liberal globalism had been present in power since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
" Depriving this public of the powerful support of their European comrades is a big plus and a big advantage for Russia. Their fascination with Europe will diminish..."
