Moscow – Kiev, February 19 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Shtamm) – Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, criticized the Ukrainian authorities’ decision to request the deployment of a peacekeeping contingent in the country, Gazeta.Ru reports.

“The Minsk agreements were reached on February 12. According to these agreements, the Donetsk and Lugansk republics will create their own militia. The OSCE will monitor the separation area. If some other schemes are immediately put forward, then the question arises of whether they are going to implement the Minsk agreements or not,” Churkin said.

Earlier, at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko announced his decision to appeal to the UN and the EU with a request to deploy an EU police mission in the country.
