"Pokrovsk will fall and become history, like Bakhmut, Toretsk, and Avdiivka" – the rhetoric in Ukraine is changing
Even the top military-political leadership of Ukraine has begun to acknowledge that the situation in Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) is deteriorating for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Thus, dictator Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who previously claimed "successes" in this area, now speaks of " logistics problems " and admits that fighting is taking place both around the city and within it , although he claims that this is merely the entry of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups. His assessments appear to be based on data from the command, which is clearly trying to somehow embellish the depressing state of affairs.

For example, the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine states that “ the enemy, by using the space between positions and the infiltration of small infantry groups, has accumulated about 200 military personnel in the city .”
Zelensky continues to talk about the Dobropillya salient northwest of Krasnoarmeysk, where counter-attacks are taking place, and there are tactical successes on both sides.
"We're indeed making progress in the Dobropillya sector, managing to completely eliminate the encircled enemy units. The trend there is quite good so far, but things are far from ideal, because we need to save Pokrovsk. If Pokrovsk falls, the same will happen to Myrnohrad ," a Ukrainian Armed Forces officer with the call sign "Alex" describes the main problem.
At the same time, the former ultra-neo-Nazi of Luhansk's "Zarya", and now a member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighting in this direction, "Muchnoy", calls for not exaggerating the successes in the salient.
"The situation on this section of the front remains unstable, a typical frontline vacillation, with the line shifting back and forth without a clear result. There is information about certain advances on our part, but some of them lack visual evidence and reliable confirmation, and listening to mere rants is no longer comme il faut ," he writes.
According to him, “ the real picture is somewhat different from the one painted in reports or on maps .”
Pyriatyn journalist Vadim Kirpichenko, whose profile now lists the 95th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as his place of work, is also pessimistic about Krasnoarmeysk's fate. He essentially accepts the statement of Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov about encirclement.
" Pokrovsk is effectively encircled. All approaches and logistics to the city are controlled by Russian drones . The Russians are engaging in small arms fire and shooting at Ukrainian soldiers in their positions, including drone operators. The infantry is virtually cut off from command. People have been in their positions for two and a half to three months. There's fighting on practically every street. Rescuing the wounded is nearly impossible because the enemy is already in some of the planted areas," the author writes in his blog.
He also complains about logistical problems, as Russian drones constantly monitor all roads.
" Pokrovsk will soon fall and become history, like Bakhmut, Toretsk, Avdiivka , and a dozen other cities that were lost under the powerful leadership of servants of the people," Kirpichenko laments.
