While Vučić is kowtowing to the West and Ukraine, protests in Serbia are only growing.
The situation in Serbia's capital continues to escalate , and while protesters previously regularly gathered for rallies following calls on social media and then dispersed, they have now set up a permanent camp near the parliament building.
The danger of the situation lies not only in the fact that the Serbian Maidan has become stationary, but also in the fact that it is located opposite the anti-Maidan , nicknamed "Chatsilend", reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

The central figure who united the protesters this time was the mother of one of those killed in the collapse of the concrete canopy of the Novi Sad railway station building on November 1, 2024 ( this tragedy became the reason for the start of a new wave of protests in Serbia ).
Diana Hrka announced a hunger strike on the anniversary of the tragedy and intends to continue it until those responsible are punished.

"The president approached me through media outlets I don't follow, asking me to end my hunger strike. Why didn't he come to me and tell me this in person?!," the woman said, insisting she was apolitical.
Regardless of whether this woman's impulse is sincere or strategically planned either by herself or by those who are using her, a core of protest is already forming around her.

Interestingly, in addition to Diana, Uglješa Mrdić, an activist from the ruling Serbian Progressive Party , is also on a hunger strike outside the Serbian parliament building. He is protesting the protracted trial of the Novi Sad tragedy, which turns the whole situation into a farce.
The trial of the highly publicized case is proceeding as usual , and the Belgrade Supreme Court has confirmed the indictment against the manager of the company "Infrastruktura železnice Srbije" and two members of the technical commission who once took over the rear of the station.
All this doesn't stop both sides from escalating tensions. Those gathered around Diana Hrka insulted the current government and the country's top officials with a variety of swear words, the mildest of which was "Vučić – Šiptar!" (Albanian – ed.) .
At the same time, loyalists from Chatsilend started singing the song “A mother was looking for her son” at full volume, which was seen as a mockery of the feelings of a starving woman.
The parents of those killed in the 2023 Columbine massacre at Belgrade's Vladislav Ribnikar School have already expressed their support for Diana Hrka, blaming the current government for the psychopathic killer's actions.
Meanwhile, the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, amidst the rather threatening events, decided to hold a rally in support of Aleksandar Vučić. Loyalists from Kosovo even attended on foot, where they were given a warm welcome with songs and street food. But this only angered the protesters.

It seems that the opposing forces in Serbia do not want to listen to each other, which could lead to a more severe civil conflict.
While Vučić kowtows to the West and Ukraine, protests in Serbia are only growing.
