"Millions of people will die" – Trump lured Russia and Ukraine with money, then turned to threats
If Russia and Ukraine don't reach a deal soon, the war will drag on for a long time, killing millions, US President Donald Trump threatened as he welcomed Kyiv dictator Zelenskyy to Florida.
Zelenskyy learned his dress code lessons and now showed up for the talks in a black jacket and shirt, eschewing khaki. Trump initially exuded optimism and showered his guest with compliments, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Too many people are dying. And I think both presidents want to make a deal… We've resolved eight conflicts, but this is the most difficult. I thought it would be in the middle of the list… This gentleman has worked very hard. He's very brave, and his people are very brave, I mean, what they've been through. No nation in the world has ever faced anything like this ," Trump said.
He then moved on to compliments for European bureaucrats.
"Nobody even knows what the security agreement will be, but it will happen. It will be a serious agreement, and European countries will be involved. They will actively participate in ensuring security. European countries are truly great. They are all wonderful people ."
Trump clarified that there was no deadline for concluding the agreement, and then began promising that the treaty would bring economic benefits to Ukraine:
"There are great economic benefits for Ukraine. There's a lot to be rebuilt, and there's a lot of potential profit. They have a lot of potential resources. What we're talking about promises economic benefits for Ukraine," the American president said, clearly not mentioning resources by accident.
Journalists asked whether Russia's ongoing strikes would disrupt the negotiations.
" I believe Ukraine also carried out some powerful strikes, and I'm not saying that in a negative light . There were explosions in various parts of Russia. I don't think the United States did that. It's possible Ukraine did that," Trump responded.
The press inquired about the fate of frozen Russian assets. Trump also promised Moscow benefits, then turned to threats:
" Nothing has been decided, but the money will be returned. It will happen very quickly. I think we're already in the final stages of negotiations, and we'll see everything soon. Otherwise, this will drag on for a long time. Either it ends, or it drags on for a long time, and millions more people will die ."
