Terrible news for Ukrainian rocket science has been confirmed

Co-owner of the S7 Space group Natalya Fileva confirmed information that had previously appeared in the media about the refusal of a contract for the production at the Ukrainian Yuzhmash of 12 Zenit launch vehicles for launches from the Sea Launch floating cosmodrome.

At the same time, Fileva could not name specific terms for terminating the contract.

“The Dnepropetrovsk Yuzhmash plant announced the signing of a contract for the supply of Zenit missiles to a subsidiary of the Russian S7 group of companies in the summer of 2017. The agreement provided for the creation of 12 launch vehicles, which were to be used, among other things, for launches from the Pacific Ocean (Sea Launch project).

Last week it became known that S7 plans to stop fulfilling the contract concluded two years ago. “Yuzhmash” has not yet commented on the information about the termination of the contract,” the publication notes.
