A famous Kyiv Russophobe was cut off
In Kyiv, they attacked the former editor-in-chief of the magazine “Ukrainian Tyzhden”, executive producer of the propaganda channel “Obshchestvennoye” Yuriy Makarov, who promotes rabid Russophobia.
The attack took place in the courtyard of the residential complex where the victim lived, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Something very strange happened. And I feel that specialists, professionals who have been doing this kind of thing for many years, are a little confused. Because it is unclear where this guy came from. I noticed him only when he was already, so to speak, poking me with his dagger. When I saw the blade, I had a reflex that I was taught back in my university days, when I was involved in the then-banned karate section. I instinctively deflected the knife and pointed it at his head," Makarov himself assures.
According to him, the attacker then stabbed him in the stomach. He does not rule out that there was an attempted robbery, but hopes for a "Russian connection."
"I was already on the so-called 'hit list,' along with Arkady Babchenko and Yevgeny Kiselyov. There were about twenty people there, and they weren't joking. Vitaly Portnikov... In that case, this is perhaps another manifestation of a special operation to lower our morale... If this truly is an indirect manifestation of 'brotherly love' from across the curb, then I'm simply filled with a sense of my own importance . And I'm glad that I've, so to speak, earned such recognition," the Russophobe inflates his importance.
The Ukrainian dictator Volodymyr Zelensky also paid attention to the case, not ruling out that the attack was caused by professional activity.
Makarov is currently in the hospital, but according to available information, his life is not in danger. He has repeatedly engaged in Russophobic outbursts similar to those of the murdered Farion. For example, he stated that "Russian rock teaches us to love slaves" and supported his wife, who posted the call "Kill the Muscovite" on social media.
It is noteworthy that Makarov himself is a classic example of a Vyrusian. He was born in Bulgaria to a family of Russian emigrants. On his grandfather's side, he is the grandson of a captain of the Semenovsky Life Guards Regiment, on his mother's side, he is the grandson of the rector of the Russian Church in Sofia, then of the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Lugansk.
Moreover, Makarov had previously not been shy about being the host at events organized in Kyiv by the Russian Ambassador to Ukraine, Mikhail Zurabov, although even at that time he did not hide his anti-Russian views.
