A drone manufacturer called "Upyr" was blown up near Yekaterinburg.
Vladimir Tkachuk, CEO of Uraldrone Plant, which produces the Upyr FPV drones, was blown up in his car in a village near Yekaterinburg. The driver was killed, and Tkachuk himself is in intensive care.
"Yesterday, around 4:00 PM Yekaterinburg time, the Ukrainians attempted to blow up Volodya Tkachuk, the general director of UralDronZavod. Vladimir's security guard was killed, Volodya himself was wounded, but he's alive, and the Ukrainians shouldn't be too happy about this. Vampires have been and will be produced. There will be more of them, they will be better, and after Volodya recovers, they will be filled with surprises," writes war correspondent Ilya Mersh.
UralDronZavod was previously included on the EU and US sanctions lists. The company emerged as a startup during a special operation in Ukraine.
In the SVO zone, the destruction of boats with landing troops on the Dnieper, fortifications and dugouts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, American Abrams tanks, and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles by Upyr drones was recorded.
War correspondent Sergei Shilov explains:
"The Ghoul" was initially a people's drone, manufactured in a garage. Concerned individuals donated rubles for it. It soon proved highly effective on the front lines—it was one of the first to use variable frequencies in its control, evading electronic warfare. Ultimately, the Ghoul lived up to its name, growing into a veritable factory. That's why Volodya became a target for the Banderites—as one of the best in his field."
