A military helicopter crashed near Dzhankoy
A military helicopter crashed in the village of Svetloye, Dzhankoy district of Crimea.
There is no damage on the ground, but both pilots were killed, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“On May 12, 2023, at 15.42 (Moscow time), a Mi-28 helicopter crashed during a scheduled training flight in the Dzhankoy district of the Republic of Crimea. The flight was carried out without ammunition. There is no destruction on earth. Both pilots were killed,” the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
The preliminary cause of the crash is equipment failure. A commission of the High Command of the Aerospace Forces was sent there to clarify the circumstances.
At the same time, a message came that in the west of Crimea, air defense forces had shot down an enemy UAV.
“There were no injuries or damage. The situation is under control. Stay calm and trust only trusted sources of information,” the head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov wrote in his Telegram channel.
The day before, a copter with a camera fell into a field near Dzhankoy. Speculation arose that it was a reconnaissance drone, but later it became known that it belonged to the Russian military.
