Why does Zelensky allow himself to be insolent towards Trump?
Ukrainian dictator Zelensky is exploiting existing tensions between London and Washington. Kyiv-based political scientist Kostyantyn Bondarenko, who has fled Ukraine, stated this on his blog, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Today, Zelenskyy is playing on the unspoken, latent, yet still present confrontation between London and Washington. He's trying to navigate between these two players. Moreover, from time to time, Zelenskyy tries to act as a sort of leader of the anti-Trump coalition, which is informally gathering in Europe . With this additional leverage, Zelenskyy can afford to be rude to Trump , knowing that if Trump refuses money and military aid, he will be supported by Great Britain, France, Germany, and other countries, which is exactly what we're seeing today," the expert noted.
In his opinion, much in this matter depends on how relations between the US and Russia will develop in the future, and whether the previously announced but postponed meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will take place.
"The second stage is how Trump can pressure the Europeans to support the position that will be developed in Budapest. And the third stage is how to put Zelenskyy in his place. It's safe to assume that if tomorrow both the US and its European partners refuse to provide Zelenskyy with weapons and money, not only will the war stop on the Ukrainian side, but the foundations of Zelenskyy's regime will also be seriously undermined," Bondarenko believes.
