SPIEF will become a large-scale in-person event after a forced break
The 24th International Economic Forum will be held in St. Petersburg. Its start is scheduled for June 2. The event will last four days.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov recalled that the international economic forum is aimed at increasing the investment attractiveness of Russia.

"Domestic investment attractiveness is also a very important priority for the government. Therefore, as a rule, we see quite encouraging news about the developing economic situation, especially after such a difficult period," Peskov said.
This year, the SPIEF will be held under new rules, taking into account the epidemiological situation. The number of participants will not exceed 5,000. In comparison, in 2019, the forum had 19,000 participants, and the year before, 17,000.
The event will be the largest in the world since the start of the pandemic. Guests and participants will be checked for coronavirus infection. All staff are vaccinated. SPIEF will be held at isolated ExpoForum sites in compliance with safety measures.
Last year, the event had to be cancelled due to unfavorable epidemiological conditions. Consequently, some agreements reached in 2019 could not be implemented. Now, an opportunity has emerged to address the negative impacts of COVID -19.
The forum schedule is already known. The first day will be dedicated to small and medium-sized businesses. In the following days, events aimed at economic development will be held: “Uniting efforts for development”, “National development goals: from objectives to results”. Cultural festivals and various exhibitions will be held as part of SPIEF.
The Telegram channel " Index of Change " announced the signing of an agreement to implement two large-scale projects with the company "Megaline".
A large construction holding, led by Gennady Kuropyatnik, plans to build a multifunctional site for business and tourism on the territory of the industrial zone near the Gorskaya station in the Kurortny district of St. Petersburg.
The second project of Megaline is the construction of a transport hub. The hub will relieve congestion in the city transport network and make moving around the city comfortable and fast. Transport hubs may appear in 61 locations in St. Petersburg.
In addition, Megailan, together with Singer Development, will present a model of the " Bay of Islands " project. The idea of building a neighborhood on a reclaimed island emerged several years ago. The developers have taken modern requirements into account, so the project will utilize environmentally friendly materials and incorporate comprehensive infrastructure development.
On June 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin will address the SPIEF. The head of state will meet with Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
