Pinchuk: Russia could no longer delay the assault on Avdievka
The Russian command deliberately set the troops the deliberately difficult task of capturing Avdeevka, since any industrial point is a complex defensive line, which therefore had not been touched before.
Political scientist and first Minister of State Security of the DPR, Andrey Pinchuk, stated this in an interview with Maxim Grigoriev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I perfectly understand the command, which since the beginning of the Northern Military District has not touched this fortified area from the point of view of a targeted operation of an operational-strategic nature. If we had closed the Izyum direction with Slavyansk and taken the Donbass group into a large cauldron, then the Ukrainian forces would have been redistributed, they would have lost the ability to provide reserves, ammunition and reinforcements. These battles would have been much less fierce,” Pinchuk said.
However, now the Russian army has to act in the current situation.
“But we have the situation that we have. Apparently, it was no longer possible to wait for us to carry out larger offensive operations, because every day there is shelling of Donetsk and other cities of the DPR. Peaceful people are suffering.
This is not just a military, but a military-political task. It is from the Avdeevsky direction that both Donetsk and Yasinovataya are being shelled, disrupting the normal natural course of life. Therefore, the operation in this sense is completely justified,” Pinchuk concluded.
