The first day of Zelensky's presidency was marked by a circus on Bankova
Verkhovna Rada deputy, leader of the “Radical Party” Oleg Lyashko staged a presentation at the presidential administration of Ukraine, where the leaders of all parliamentary political forces were convened for consultations.
In the morning, Lyashko rode his bicycle to the building, where he spoke with journalists and announced his plans to launch a video broadcast of the negotiations on his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We will propose to Mr. Zelensky that these consultations be broadcast live, so that all of Ukraine can see the subject of the conversation, the subject of discussion. I really hope that the days are gone when in President Poroshenko’s administration on the 4th floor they removed the clock and took away the phone after Onishchenko recorded conversations with Poroshenko. I really hope that now they won’t take my watch or take my phone. And I will have the opportunity to turn on the live broadcast so that all Ukrainians can see the openness of the authorities, the president’s conversation regarding the dissolution of parliament,” Lyashko said.
In the administration building, Lyashko conducted a video tour, crossed paths with President Zelensky in the corridor, but did not receive approval for filming, after which the head of state’s security did not allow him into the office where consultations were taking place until the main radical handed over his phone.
“I maintain that nothing has really changed. Just as everything was closed under Poroshenko, that’s how it is. They hide from people, don’t tell the truth and interfere with the ability of Ukrainians to see what is happening,” Lyashko said.
Representations from Lyashko will last until he loses his deputy mandate. After this, the leader of the “Radical Party” will go to work in the circus. Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko came to this conclusion in his blog.
