In Russia, many people are mistaken in believing that the West does not understand them.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova made this statement on the "Purity of Understanding" podcast, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There's no misunderstanding on their part. It's our profound misconception that they don't understand us. Stop thinking that way. Stop making excuses for them. They understand perfectly well what they're trying to achieve. They understand us very well, but they pretend not to, and they share our misunderstanding of how they operate," Zakharova said.
Based on her many years of communication with Western diplomats, she believes that the West has declared itself " historically right " and worthy of governing the world.
"They're pragmatic and very firm in their positions. Most importantly, they don't want to budge. They're very happy with the platform they've created. It's that there are those they've labeled 'the beautiful garden' or 'the golden billion,' and then there's everyone else : the service staff, the expendables (in their terminology), and so on," Zakharova said.
