IDPs from Donbass realized that in Kyiv they were “second-class” people
Members of the Ukrainian organization “Group of Influence” staged a picket outside the Verkhovna Rada building demanding that migrants from Donbass be given the opportunity to vote in parliamentary elections.

At the rally, Tatyana Durneva, executive director of the public organization “Group of Influence”, spoke with a demand that deputies adopt bill 6240 “On providing the rights of choice to displaced people.”
“For four years, internally displaced persons who chose Ukraine have been living in new communities where they do not feel like full citizens of the country. People are deprived of the basic right of choice: they cannot elect deputies to local constituencies in parliamentary elections,” the social activist described the current situation.
“We have so-called bells, which symbolize that it is time to pull our heads out of the sand, time to see citizens among the displaced. The time has come to consider bill 6240 “On providing the rights of choice to displaced people,” Durneva said.
