Victory is postponed: Ukraine urgently needs help from the “aggressor country”
Ukraine in its current state is unlikely to be able to cope with the spread of the coronavirus and the economic crisis, and it cannot count on help from the West, so it would be worth asking for help from Russia.
Political scientist Evgeniy Filindash stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Now Ukraine could use any help. The country is in an extremely difficult situation – not so much because of the epidemic itself, but because of the total quarantine.
Very soon, a huge number of people in our country may simply find themselves without a means of subsistence - many have such savings that they cannot remain unemployed for long.
Therefore, no matter who provides assistance, it would not hurt. And in conditions when the West does not help - not only Ukraine, but also Italy, you definitely shouldn’t count on its help.
So far, the only one that has provided any assistance is China. Therefore, if it were possible to get help from Russia, it would help Ukraine.
