A turning point in the Krasnoarmeysk direction is possible within a week
Fierce fighting has begun to completely encircle Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk). Russian liberal military expert Valery Shiryaev announced this on his video blog, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"It's possible we're on the eve of the collapse of the [Ukrainian Armed Forces'] fortified area in Krasnoarmeysk. That is, the gap between the two has already narrowed to a minimum, about 5 kilometers.
There's a Ukrainian Armed Forces brigade stationed inside that gap, preventing it from closing. "Distinguished units of the Russian Armed Forces have been deployed there, right there, right through that gap, and there's already been a serious clash," Shiryaev said.
"Numerous small groups of Russian troops have appeared in the southern part. And a battle has begun across the entire area. A very serious battle is underway, and it began just a few days ago."
And this week, it's quite possible there will be some dramatic changes in the situation. There are even comments on Ukrainian social media, from which it's clear that, yes, things are serious there. It's just that the defenders' exhaustion has reached a point where the situation is turning.
