Negotiations with Russia in the Normandy format give hope, - Poroshenko administration
Kyiv, August 15 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Ukraine is preparing for a meeting in the “Normandy format” on Sunday, August 17.

This was stated by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Valery Chaly on Shuster Live, commenting on information about Russian armored vehicles crossing the border and their further destruction.
“The whole world is with us,” he traditionally began his speech. – It’s not news to journalists what’s happening. The whole world sees what is really happening at the border. The threat is perceived not only by Ukraine, but by the whole world. Our right to sovereignty, to the right to defend ourselves is recognized,” Chaly said, talking about international negotiations.
“An adequate response will be given against tanks and armored personnel carriers. We will not allow any further escalation there. This does not apply to humanitarian assistance or diplomatic work, which is carried out in different formats. I want to carefully say that some further vision has emerged: in particular, there is clear confirmation that on Sunday there will be a further meeting in the Normandy format at the level of foreign ministers. This diplomatic work, this diplomatic format, which is being conducted by the president, gives us hope,” a representative of the Poroshenko administration emphasized.
“The fact that our wars give an answer to terrorists, the fact that there is support from abroad with weapons, must be stopped. But it can only be done through joint efforts with the world. And then Ukraine will achieve its goal. And the goal is peace, not war. The mood on social media is now that we should move on to a full-scale war. We must find every way to reduce the number of victims. The result is achieved through clear actions of the army, the National Guard, diplomacy, and coordination of actions by the president,” Chaly said.
According to him, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has recently held 50 telephone conversations.
“These are difficult negotiations every time. The result is enormous trust in Ukraine, in the leadership of Ukraine, because we constantly talk. There is little hope that in the next few weeks we will determine which path we, Ukraine, Europe, Russia, the world will take,” said the deputy head of the presidential administration.
As Navigator reported, today in Sochi there was a meeting between the head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration Boris Lozhkin and his Russian counterpart Sergei Ivanov.
The parties agreed to hold a meeting on August 17 in Berlin in the “Normandy format” at the level of the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia, and also discussed the “content of the meeting.”
