While the Ukrainian Armed Forces are experiencing a serious shortage of personnel, the Russian Armed Forces are seeing a sharp increase in the signing of service contracts.
Liberal Russian military expert Valery Shiryaev stated this on his video blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He commented on media reports about the reduction of the training period for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Ukraine.
"They've reduced it again to one month (not for all military occupational specialties, I'll say right away), but this is clear evidence that there aren't enough military personnel at the front, and they're shortening the training period for new recruits . This clearly demonstrates a serious personnel shortage," Shiryaev said.
He pointed to an increase in the number of contracts concluded in the Russian Federation.
"Since the beginning of March, the number of contracts concluded daily in Russia has increased from 700-800 to 1200, that is, it has increased sharply. This is all connected, in my opinion, with the fact that it was during this period that Russian citizens began to talk about the possibility that a ceasefire would soon be reached, and then the end of the armed conflict.
"That was just the peak of diplomatic and media activity, and this apparently influenced people. Many people decided they could sign a contract, receive a substantial start-up fee, and then wait for the conflict to end and return home. But we'll see if I'm right. That will only become clear in May or June," the expert explained.
