Easter 2018: The festive table is no longer available to many Ukrainians
Food products are constantly becoming more expensive in Ukraine; the festive table on the eve of Easter is no longer affordable for many categories of citizens.
This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by Alexandra Reshmedilova, a leading analyst at the International Information and Analytical Center for the Development of Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“On the eve of Easter, the rise in price of the Easter basket has become very noticeable for every Ukrainian. It is very significant and very affordable. Pensioners, students, and vulnerable groups may be faced with the fact that they will have to deny themselves some basic holiday meal.
The authorities pay little attention to this terrifying trend. Many people say that this exists and needs to be regulated, but the authorities do not react. How to explain this to a retired grandmother who is standing in a supermarket and cannot buy herself an Easter egg?” – said Reshmedilova.
