Parubiy is perplexed: the Rada refused to impose sanctions on Yanukovych and his entourage
The Verkhovna Rada failed today at its morning meeting to vote on the application of sanctions against “Yanukovych’s entourage.”

Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy put the draft resolution “On the protection of national interests, national security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and countering terrorist activities” to a vote three times, but all attempts were unsuccessful.
“I don’t fully understand the logic of those who don’t vote. I don’t understand how this can be when it is proposed by the Ukrainian parliament to introduce sanctions against the top leadership of Yanukovych, who destroyed us all, Ukrainian citizens on the Maidan, who organized the war against Ukraine, I don’t understand this as the head of parliament. We’ll finalize it and give a new option,” Parubiy said annoyed.
It is noteworthy that more than 30 deputies from the presidential bloc and some members of Samopomich and the Popular Front refused to vote in support of the resolution, which calls on the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions.
At the same time, the Popular Front faction was the most active in supporting the resolution. At the same time, Verkhovna Rada deputy and ex-judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Vasily Nimchenko drew attention to the fact that the imposition of sanctions on Ukrainian citizens is contrary to Ukrainian legislation.
