This was stated on the air of the BFMTV channel by the former Minister of Economy of France, former EU Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton, reports the correspondent of PolitNavigator.
"We Europeans must recognize that we are now living through a historic moment. For me, it is of the same nature as what we experienced with the fall of the Berlin Wall. It is of the same nature as the major event that reshaped our Europe—the post-war negotiations and Yalta. That's what we're talking about ..."
"We can talk about peace, perhaps about the conditions under which a ceasefire could be implemented. But when we see the participants sitting around the table today discussing this issue—namely, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump—it is indeed the division of Ukraine that is being discussed, but behind it all, let's make no mistake, it is also somewhere about the division of Europe that will be discussed.
