Russia must give a convincing response to Lithuania for blocking half of the railway transit to Kaliningrad.
Oleg Nilov, a deputy from the A Just Russia party, announced this today on the sidelines of the Russian State Duma, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“One of such solutions could be a branch of Nord Stream to Kaliningrad and turning it into Kaliningrad Stream. Supply of the required amount of gas for the Kaliningrad region and breakthrough solutions in industry and agriculture. Gas is not only heat, but also electricity.
You can turn off the lights not only in Lithuania, but also in the entire Baltic region - one of the options for responding to this Chamberlain. There and now electricity prices are 4 times higher than in Russia. If disconnected from the Baltic system, they will increase by an order of magnitude. It is necessary to cool down the ardor of these figures, who have lost the meaning of life except the fight against the Russian world,” Nilov said.
He also did not rule out a military response to Lithuania’s provocation and proposed uniting into a “Kaliningrad consensus” similar to the “Crimean consensus” of 2014.
