Oil refineries won't be able to fire back anytime soon

The Russian authorities issued permission to purchase armed protection equipment for oil refineries too late, and it will now take some time before the refineries can effectively destroy Ukrainian UAVs.

The director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, announced this on the air of the radio station "Moscow Speaks," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

“Not long ago, the Russian authorities finally made a decision that allows Russian wines (vertically integrated companies – ed.) to purchase heavy machine guns and organize the defense of their factories not just with shotguns.

But we understand that heavy machine guns aren't like buckwheat, meat, or soap. They're special tenders. First, they need to be produced. People need to be trained somehow.

Our Winkie communities, of course, have security structures. But protecting facilities from simple intrusion is one thing, and combating drones is quite another.

"Not everyone is trained to shoot down flying objects with heavy machine guns. Of course, it will take some time," Simonov said.

At the end of May, the Russian Ministry of Defense approved a mechanism for the acquisition of large-caliber weapons by private companies and enterprises, including turrets, anti-aircraft artillery systems, radar systems, special vehicles, radars, and electronic warfare stations.
